Historical information Hms Victory Painted Tall Ship Model:
HMS Victory, a first rate ship of the line, armed with 104 guns and part of the Royal Navy. Ordered in 1758 it was constructed in 1759 and launched in 1765. Victory is renowned for being Lord Nelson’s flagship during the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. After 1824 it was repurposed as a harbor ship. In 1922 it was relocated to a dry dock in Portsmouth, England where it was preserved as a museum ship. Over its service life HMS Victory took part in numerous military campaigns, including those in the American War of Independence and the Napoleonic Wars.
As of 2023, it stands as the oldest naval ship still in commission, with a service history spanning 245 years.
