Historical information Elissa Tall Ship Model:

Elissa is the name of a renowned vintage sailing ship, preserved and currently operational in Galveston, Texas, USA. Constructed in 1877 at the shipyard of A. McMillan & Son in Scotland. Elissa was built as a barque sailing ship with three masts, representing one of the last wooden hulled ships constructed during that era.

Initially, Elissa served the purpose of transporting cargo across the ocean, carrying goods such as timber, cotton and various other products. Throughout its operational years, Elissa underwent several changes in ownership and was registered under different flags and names.

Upon retiring from active cargo transportation, Elissa was meticulously preserved and underwent restoration efforts in Galveston, Texas during the late 1970s.
