Miss Supertest III is a Canadian – designed hydroplane, achieved victory in the 1959 Detroit Memorial Regatta and dominated the 1959, 1960 and 1961 Harmsworth Cup races, earning the distinction of being the only three time winner in history. Owned by J. Gordon Thompson of Supertest Petroleum, it was managed by his son, Jim Thompson and piloted by Bob Hayward. Miss Supertest III is enshrined in Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame and is presently under the ownership of Murray Walker. Its predecessor Miss Supertest II, briefly held the world water speed record in 1957.
