HMS Victory is a first – rate ship of the line of the Royal Navy armed with 104 guns. Ordered in 1758, laid down in 1759, and launched in 1765, Victory is renowned for its role as Lord Nelson’s flagship during the Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. After 1824, it transitioned to a harbor ship. In 1922, the ship was relocated to a dry dock in Portsmouth, England where it has been preserved as a museum ship. Throughout its distinguished career, HMS Victory took part in numerous war campaigns, including operations in the American War of Independence and the Napoleonic Wars.
